HEY JK BEAUTY AND WELL-BEING FRIEND’S, ever heard the term “LESS IS MORE”? Do you have the fear of wearing “BLUSH”? Are you totally horrified about the thought of walking out of your house, looking like a clown, with your two cheeks illuminated to the oncoming traffic?!!! Have you secretly desired to wear a touch of blush but just can’t seem to find anything subtle………Yes, if you are anything like me the beetroot look it’s a no go and has turned you off from the thought of even using blush altogether!!!…….Until……..yes ladies…. until l took a chance on MAC Cosmetics, who have a really broad range of blush colours; Well Lets see………….
I selected 3 gentle and easily blendable colours that seems to be working quite well. Come and take a look with me;
1) STYLE – This is a gentle shimmery golden coral peach powder that will bring the warmth to your cheeks. It’s a really warm pigmented shade that works quite well with most skin tones. A tiny amount will give you the real subtle glow you desire. Really great for this summer season and perfect for Day make up. I enjoy wearing this in the day however you can build up on this colour depending on how pigmented you want your look to be, so it can work quite well for late afternoon too. One thing to note if your skin is more on the oily side is not to build up too many layers because the shimmery finish may course the skin to look more greasy, so apply lightly.
2) DAINTY– A mineralize pretty pink blush with a gentle pearl shimmer which gives a real nice soft glow! The texture is in the name; it is a finely milled light weight powder that is fairly sheer when applied, but the colour builds up lightly, has warm undertones and is suitable for most skin tones but may not be as effective on very dark ebony skin tones.
I am medium dark skinned so l apply and build up to around 2 to 3 layers and blend it in well.
Be sure to not overdo it if your complexion is light to milky white skin. Now it’s important to use the right brush. One that glides easily over the skin. You do not want to put too much pressure on the skin by using the wrong brush. MAC has some excellent blush brushes and Sigma brushes are also good, so invest in a good blush brush.
3) RAIZIN – The darkest colour out of the three, this gorgeous brownish-red blush is much loved and popular as it can act as a general blush and it’s wonderful for bronzing / contouring. I find this blush to be a sexy warm romantic colour. I just can’t get enough of it!
On first impressions it looked like it was nothing to write home about, but oh my gosh does it scrub up well when applied! It does the trick to perk up the cheeks and brighten you right up!
Raizin falls under the MAC Matte range; it is wonderfully pigmented so a thin light application provides a natural consistency that adheres well to the skin! One quick tip, be sure to know exactly what you are using the blush for; as mentioned above you can use it for 3 purposes
- General blush
- Bronzing and
So apply with this in mind, you do not want to overdo it; less is more……………………..so have fun with it. This blush is rocking fantastic and will last all day long!
In conclusion, after trying out the 3 colours, l vote thumbs up that these are definite “BLUSH DO’s”!
DIRECTIONS – For applying these blushes: Choose an appropriate brush and glide the brush over your choice of blush. You may choose to purchase all three blushes, like l did, exciting times!! Remember to tap off any excess powder and thinly apply the blush to the skin using sweeping strokes and blend well for a great finish! Anyway hope you found this useful and have you used any of these colours and found it worked for you? Let us know!
